Choosing the Ideal Golf Vacation
By JACOB of Picmoney.com

What the ideal golf vacation is will not be the same for everyone. In fact, it may not be the same for one individual as tastes and desires can vary based on the season or budget.

Some might think the idea outing would be playing at a major course, knowing that professional golfers have played the same course. Any avid golfer would love the opportunity to play the course where the U.S. Open or Master's is held and even courses in Spain. Legends such as Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer have walked those courses. (Yes, we are including Tiger Woods as a legend here due to the multiple tournaments he has won at his young age.)

Other golfers would base an idea trip more on the weather conditions rather than the course itself. Some prefer a day on the course with milder temperatures and a breeze just enough to keep them cool. However, other golfers like the challenge of extreme temperatures, either extremely hot or far below freezing, because they like to see how well they can play under such circumstances as if they view the extreme temperatures as a course obstacle.

There are even golfers who will play at night and in the snow. In fact, there are balls designed just for these circumstances. Although night golfers can easily chase the glow-in-the-dark ball around the course, a flashlight should be used also avoid running into a tree or another obstacle on the course. Fluorescent balls have been created for golfers who like to play in the snow so that the colored balls can be easily seen despite snow covering the course.

Golfing is a challenging game in general and, certainly, not a game for the faint of heart. Golfers playing in extreme temperatures must remember to bring enough water to stay hydrated, and should avoid alcoholic beverages during a game. For golfers playing in the colder temperatures, bring something warm to drink can help keep the body temperature up even though they are walking from hole to hole. However, such golfers consider these to be the ideal outing.

Most golfers view the ideal outing as just a chance to play on their favorite course alongside some friends, focusing on enjoying themselves and not taking it too seriously. These golfers are usually found playing as a couple or as a foursome, oftentimes chiding other golfers on a poor shot and complimenting them on the good shots. Since these outings are usually to escape from the day-to-day stresses, the final score is rarely of concern unless, of course, they do tend to be the more serious golfers.

Now, there are some golfers who prefer to play alone. This golfer usually likes to walk the course and take his or her time to get a good feel for the tee boxes, the green and fairway. Whether you want to combine and travel into your vacation, or want a simple outing to enjoy the day and game, it is really up to you to determine what you are looking for out of your outing. Then, you only need to get to the course and play!

golf vacation News & Information:

The city of Las Vegas is fast becoming well known, for not only its casinos but also for its golf. Today, there are at least 50 golf courses in and around Las Vegas, though not all of them are operational; some are still under construction. This number is indeed significant, in view of city’s half-million population. This probably has to do with the fact that the tourist traffic in this city has been on the rise.
